Born in 1932, acclaimed Finnish designer Eero Aarnio changed the face of industrial design through his groundbreaking use of plastic. The Parabel Dining Table and Focus 2 Chairs complement each other in form and material to create a dining set with a unique harmony. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor areas, this dining set adds an element of fantasy to every space it occupies.

Design Year: 2002 and 2003

The Design:

To create the Parabel Dining Table, Eero Aarnio chose fiberglass to meet the material demands of the expressive table he envisioned. Not only did fiberglass allow him to shape the table exactly to his specifications, but it was a practical choice to create a long-lasting, easy-to-clean surface. He summed up the process as such: "When designing new items like Parabel Table, in my case, there is a lot of inspiration and very much craftsmanship and technical knowledge."

For the Focus 2 Chairs, Aarnio used rotation molding – a method of working with plastic, in this case medium density polyethylene - to create the Focus 2 Chair. The finished product took the same form as its predecessor, the Focus Chair, except he was able to do so at a far lower cost. The result is a striking yet practical piece that can be purchased both individually and in sets as dining chairs.

All components in this set can be used both indoors and outdoors. The chairs come in bold red and yellow as well as classic black and white to allow the set to assimilate easily into any preexisting color schemes. Additionally, all pieces are easy to care for and highly durable.

Delivery Instructions

This item will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier to ensure the safest and most convenient delivery. Please note:

A white glove delivery team consists of at least two people so you will not be burdened with carrying your order from the back of the truck to your home.

Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery.

You must inspect your package at the time of delivery. If the product has any damage or if you are concerned there may be damage, please write "Product Damaged" on the sheet you are asked to sign. This ensures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to resolve the problem.

Delivery Service Options

We offer 2 levels of service for this item: Gold and Platinum. Gold is your default shipping method; if you wish to upgrade to Platinum you may do so during checkout. Please read the service descriptions below to determine which level is best for your needs.

White Glove Gold (default)

Delivery to: Inside your residence to the room you choose. This includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights, please contact us*.
Assembly Service: The shipper will unpack the product and provide basic setup that requires no tools (i.e. set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other).
Packaging: The shipper will remove and dispose of all packaging.

White Glove Platinum

Delivery to: Inside your residence to the room you choose. This includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights, please contact us*.
Assembly Service: The shipper will unpack the product and provide light setup that requires basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other).
Packaging: The shipper will remove and dispose of all packaging.

*In all cases the shipper will not hook up any electrical or component wires. Having items carried up more than 25 steps and longer assembly periods are available as additional services which would require additional charges. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.
