The Enchord Desk and Mobile Cabinet are two pieces that are designed to easily fit into a wide range of environments through sleek design and universally helpful features. Together with the Eames Wire Chair and Leaf Personal Light, they form a versatile collection for Herman Miller's award-winning Lifework™ Portfolio.

The Enchord Desk is characterized by its dual-surface construction, giving the user a second level for storage or extra workspace. Its matching mobile cabinet provides even more features for efficient organization. The Eames Wire Chair and Leaf Personal Light round out the Enchord Office Ensemble with beauty and functionality.

Ensemble Pieces

• The ability to accommodate a wide range of user needs was a key element of the Enchord design, in terms of both functional and aesthetic demands. The solution was to create a distinctive dual-level table, allowing different zones to be designated for different materials. The mobility and compartmentalization of the cabinet make it a flexible storage solution. To add to this versatility, the table and media cabinet are available in an austere white oak and white combination, or with a bold highlight of pesto green.



• In 1951, Charles and Ray Eames met the challenge of making a reasonably priced, quality chair that was light yet strong. Their innovative solution was to use bent and welded wire as the basis for furniture, crating the Eames Wire Chair. The Eameses molded the seat of cross-woven wires and positioned it on a bent-wire, welded base that reminded some reviewers of the Eiffel Tower. The resulting airy silhouette adds interest - and functional seating - to the home office.



• Using LEDs rather than traditional bulbs, the Leaf Personal Light offers maximum lighting options with minimal mass in an intriguing, organic form and controls that invite human connection. The proprietary technology allows for highly adjustable light intensity and a solution to heat build-up. Developed according to Herman Miller's demanding Design for the Environment protocol, the Leaf is also remarkably effiicent: on average, its LEDs cut energy use by 40% compared to compact fluorescent bulbs.
