Libel Chair by René Holten

In 1997, René Holten made the DoDo, his first design for Artifort that immediately secured him the prize for the best Dutch Furniture Design in 1998. Now, Holten has stamped his make indelibly on the Artifort collection. He likes the sober, clean design of the company's seating. Holten (1961) trained at the Design Academy in Eindhoven.

Designed by René Holten, the Libel Chair fits perfectly in the Artifort furniture design tradition. This chair was designed as a comfortable seating element that can be used as a chair with a four-leg base, but also has the option of adding a connecting piece so that multiple chairs create a row. By means of a metal connection and hinge, inside and outside curves can be made. Some of the chairs feature upholstered arms or table tops, so whatever environment they are placed in, they are completely functional and comfortable. The shell is a curved seat and back in foam.
