Bird Sofa by Michiel van der Kley

While studying history, Michiel van der Kley (1962) became so interested with design of the 1920's, he decided to start designing himself. Since 1987, he has worked for manufacturers at home and abroad, including of course, Artifort. Van der Kley produces designs with a great eye for detail, from which he says the object derives its individuality.

The Bird sofa, an organic form fitting in the Artifort tradition, is designed by Michiel van der Kley. With its monolithic form, it looks like the back of this sofa flows out of the seat. The more you walk around the sofa, the more faces you see, as it appears to take on different forms. The Bird Sofa is available in many fabric and upholstery options for optimal comfort and will look fantastic in any environment.
