Born in 1932, acclaimed Finnish designer Eero Aarnio changed the face of industrial design through his groundbreaking use of plastic. The Tipi is one of the more recent additions to the Aarnio family but visually recalls the Pony, which Aarnio had designed almost 30 years prior to this avian wonder. Like the Pony, the Tipi uses simple, expressive shapes to create a charming creature that just happens to serve as a useful seat.

The Design:
- The Tipi is a humorous, light-hearted seat that, like the Pony, challenges widely held assumptions about what a seat should be. What Aarnio said of the Pony holds equally true for the Tipi: "A chair is a chair, is a chair, is a chair ... but a seat does not necessarily have to be a chair."
- The Tipi features sturdy construction with a soft exterior. It consists of a metal frame around which molded foam is affixed and then topped with highly durable Tonus 3 fabric, a stretchable wool blend. The result is a seat that provides stable support with comfortable upholstery.
- The round, inviting shapes of the Tipi, coupled with its brightly colored feet, make it a wonderful, whimsical addition to any room. Choose from six fabric colors to match your Tipi perfectly to its surroundings.
